Berkeley Oval, 1893–1933
It was actually a rectangle, made up of six buildings that have been called “a primordial residential college.” In addition to dormitories, the Oval housed classrooms, Yale Station, and offices for student publications and faculty. The Oval was torn down in order to build Berkeley College and the Cross Campus.
