Yale Boathouse, 1875–1910
Yale’s first boathouse on New Haven Harbor was little more than a barn. This was the second, a good example of 19th-century seaside architecture with a wraparound veranda. It was replaced in 1910 by the red brick Adee Memorial Boathouse, which itself fell into disuse after Yale’s crews abandoned the Harbor for the more tranquil waters of the Housatonic.
