The plot of Yale president Kingman Brewster '41 and his wife Mary Louise features a thin black stone marker surrounded by a low wall that is inscribed with a quote from Brewster himself: “The presumption of innocence is not just a legal concept. In commonplace terms, it rests on that generosity of spirit which assumes the best, not the worst, in the stranger.”
