A poem Louise wrote to Eugene O'Neill. Louise and her husband, Jack Reed, joined a theater group in 1916 that later became the Provincetown Players; it was with this group, often credited with creating modern American drama, that O'Neill developed as a playwright.

Louise and Jack wrote plays for the group and performed in them. The couple believed in free love—so much so that they were embarrassed about telling their friends that they had married—and their frequent affairs included Jack’s with Edna St. Vincent Millay and Louise’s with O'Neill. Louise’s papers at Yale include several poems and love letters that O'Neill wrote for her.
