In 1911, Hiram Bingham III, a Yale professor of Latin American history, stunned the world with his announcement that he'd located the “lost city of the Incas.” But Machu Picchu was neither lost nor was it a city. Two scientists at the Peabody Museum of Natural History have put together an exhibit that explains what Bingham actually found.
